Jai ho for Rahman, its a pride to Oscar!

Its no more a big news for every INDIAN to know that our own ARR - AR Rahman has won two Oscars for his work in Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire.

I would say this is a pride to OSCAR itself for honouring Rahman for the best score and another for his song Jai Ho from the film, a rags-to-riches tale set in the slums of Mumbai. No doubt that every tune of his music is precious!

This is rather a long waiting (hungry) for Indian in Oscars race, since last few years most of the Aamir Khan's films were in the race of Oscar and obviously no sign of winning. Earlier Oscar winners from India were costume designer Bhanu Athaiya for her work in Gandhi in 1983 and director Satyajit Ray, who won a lifetime achievement award in 1992.

The film Slumdog Millionaire has won many awards for the year 2008 and in specific to Oscar arena it netted eight awards. I simply amuse on ARRs notes on receiving the award that The composer said he hailed "all the people from Mumbai and the essence of the film, which is about optimism and the power of hope and our lives" and "I just want to thank again the whole crew of Slumdog Millionaire, especially Danny Boyle, for giving me such a great opportunity," he said, while accepting the award.

I'm glad to see noted Bollywood actor-director Aamir Khan comments as "thrilled" by India's successes at the Oscars. "It is great to see Indian talent [in cinema] being recognised internationally. We are no less than anybody else."

I wish many more feathers to ARRs glory, a journey from Roja to Slumdog Millionaire!
